Arai Corsair-X Shogun Unisex Motorcycle Helmet

The Arai Corsair-X Helmet has been engineered to take helmet technology and rider protection one step further, in true Arai fashion. This helmet is designed not only to guard against direct impacts, but also to minimize the forces of "glancing off" impacts. Arai has created a stronger shell and smoother shape that is more likely to redirect impact energy rather than absorb it, thereby decreasing the amount of force transferred to the body.

To increase the potential for the helmet to glance off impact energy, the VAS (Variable Axis System) side pod and pivot cover are smaller in size and positioned lower on the shell. The helmet is constructed from Super Fiber and other special synthetic fibers developed for F-1 helmet visor panels, assembled and bonded by Arai experts. A specially-developed resin creates stronger bonds between the shell materials with less weight, and the shell itself has superb tensile strength due to a variety of carefully-positioned materials and lightweight resin.

The Arai Corsair-X Helmet is DOT Approved and Meets FMVSS 218 Standards. The exclusive VAS (Variable Axis System) shield and side pods allow for a lower shield mount position than most helmets, thanks to a variable axis (moving pivot point) that enables the shield to open and close even with this lower placement. A dual-function lever releases both the side pod and the face shield, allowing for quick and simple face shield removal. The larger latch design provides intuitive and seamless operation, capturing and holding the face shield securely, and offering a de-mist position to slightly crack the shield open.

The VAS MAX Vision shield is standard, providing better visibility in all seasons and for all types of riding. It comes equipped with a clear anti-fog Pinlock insert. Normally, the shield mounting position must remain relatively high, as a lower shield pivot would not allow the shield to open or close. The VAS (Variable Axis System)'s variable axis (moving pivot point) solves this issue, enabling shield opening and closing even with the lower shield position.
